Thank you Hartford Road Heroes

As the song lyrics go “When good neighbours become good friends” and that is certainly the case for the residents of Hartford Road.  I had a lovely surprise when I was contacted by Mark who explained that he had organised a street party for his road and the residents had decided that they wanted to raise funds for The Toy House by holding a raffle.

Mark very kindly invited asked if I would like to attend the party. Well, I didn’t need to be asked twice! As I approached the street party, I could hear the music and laughter and was met by a sea of smiling faces and our banners proudly advertising The Toy House.

 It is wonderful to see that every single house on Hartford Road joined in the fun, to have every house take part was an amazing achievement and they all supported The Toy House along with their invited friends and family. It was a real lovely feel-good event and I certainly had road envy.

The raffle had the most amazing prizes many of which were donated by local businesses. We were blown away when Mark and Joyce visited Toy House and presented us with £512.50. The generosity of the Hartford Road residents was amazing and it will make a real difference to our Toy House visitors.

So, a massive thank you to Mark, Phil and all the Hartford Road residents!
